Description:

The second installment in the Nickelodeon Literacy Suite, Dora ABCs Vol 2: Rhyming, specifically targets your child's emerging literacy skills. By engaging in matching rhyming words and more alongside Dora and Boots in this educational application, your child will develop an awareness of individual sounds (phonemes) within words and how these sounds are structured and altered to create new words. Proficiency in hearing, distinguishing, and manipulating phonemes is closely linked to early childhood reading readiness and is deemed crucial for the acquisition of reading skills.
In this interactive game, Dora and Boots endeavor to cross the Troll Bridge; however, they face a challenge from the Grumpy Old Troll who presents them with a riddle: "To traverse my bridge, find the tokens to pay my toll." Players must attentively match rhyming pairs to collect tokens and then utilize a slingshot to deposit these tokens into the Troll's mobile basket in order to progress over the bridge.
The journey unfolds further as after identifying the rhyming pairs, your child advances to recognizing initial word sounds, final word sounds, and internal sounds. Every time a matching token is selected, the word pairs are reinforced. Clear instructions and sound effects serve as aids, facilitating your child's comprehension of word sounds.
This educational experience of discerning matching word sounds coupled with the engaging challenge of placing tokens in a moving basket amalgamate to captivate children while enhancing essential early reading skills.
